Cut List Calculator: Sheets and Lengths

Two tools in one. Sheets nests your panels live on our full boards — sheet count, edging metres, usable offcuts, and the price when you are logged in — then sends the job to us with a cut plan. Lengths is the running-metre calculator for liner bars, skirting, architrave, plinth, cornice, battens and anything else sold by the length: totals, a bar-by-bar plan for stock lengths with your saw kerf and end trim, print and CSV.

How to use it

Two ways to use it.

Sheets

Type each panel (length along the grain, width, quantity), pick the board and click the edges that need edging. The layout updates as you type and keeps improving for a few seconds; press Stop when you are happy. Log in to see the price. Send it to us and you get a PDF cut plan and a status to follow.

Quick running total

Type or paste lengths, one per line or separated by commas, and get the total in running metres. Write 1200x3 for three pieces at 1200 mm. Handy on site with a phone in one hand.

Full cut list

  1. Add your materials. For each one, enter the length it comes in and the price per length, for example 18 × 44 liner bar at 2400 mm.
  2. Add your cuts. Pick the material, then enter the length, quantity and a label so you know where each piece goes.
  3. Set the saw kerf. 3 mm suits most mitre saws.
  4. Check the plan. You get the lengths to buy for each material, running metres, waste and total cost, plus a bar-by-bar cutting plan you can print or download.

Questions

Common questions.

What is a running metre?

A running metre (or linear metre) is one metre of length, whatever the width or thickness. Skirting, architrave, liner bar and battens are priced and ordered by the running metre or by the length.

How do I work out how many lengths to buy?

Adding up the metres is not enough, because you cannot join every offcut. The calculator fits your actual cuts into the stock lengths, so you buy enough to cut every piece in one go.

Can you cut panels to a cutting list?

Yes. For sheet materials, send us your cutting list and we cut and edge-band every part on our CNC and edge bander. See our cut and edge service.
