FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

FAQs

Ordering and quotes.

Do you sell to the public, or trade only?

Both. We supply homeowners on a supply-only basis, and trade customers such as fitters, joiners, builders and interior designers. Trade customers can open a trade account for trade prices.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your plan, drawings, cabinet list or cutting list through our contact form, by email or on WhatsApp. We draw the job up and send a quote with drawings.

Can you come and measure?

We don't do site visits. Measure yourself using our measuring guide, or ask your joiner to measure for you.

Can you make any size?

Yes. Every cabinet is made to measure, to the millimetre. Bespoke sizes are priced on the same basis as our standard range, agreed at quotation.

What are your cabinets made from?

Our carcasses are made from 18mm branded board, mainly Egger, in any of hundreds of decors. See cabinet construction and our decor collections.

Can I see samples first?

Yes. Samples are £10 each, and we take that off your kitchen or bedroom order. Collect them from the workshop, or we post them in 3 to 5 working days (postage at cost). See samples.

FAQs

Deposits, payment and cancellations.

How much deposit do you take?

50% to confirm your order. The remaining 50% is due when your order is finished in the factory, before delivery, collection or release.

When does production start?

Once the deposit has cleared and you have approved the drawings, measurements, finishes and specifications in writing.

How can I pay?

By BACS bank transfer or card. There is no minimum order.

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

Trade prices are exclusive of VAT. Your quote shows the VAT.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Cancellations or changes made after materials have been ordered or production has started may be chargeable, and an order can’t be cancelled once cutting has started. Because made-to-measure goods are made to your specification, the 14-day cooling-off period for online and distance sales does not apply to them. This does not affect your rights if something is faulty.

Who is responsible for the measurements?

Measurements you supply or approve are your responsibility. We make everything to the sizes on the approved drawings, so please check them carefully.

FAQs

Lead times, delivery and collection.

How long does an order take?

Typical lead times are 5 working days for cut & edge, 1 to 2 weeks for wardrobe cabinets and 2 to 3 weeks for kitchens. Lead times are estimates and start from the latest of cleared payment, order confirmation and written approval of everything. See lead times for other products.

Do you deliver?

Yes, when delivery is agreed in writing before payment. Delivery anywhere in the East Midlands is £99 + VAT; further afield we price delivery per job. Otherwise orders are collection only.

Can I collect?

Yes. Collect from Unit 5 Atlas Mills, Birchwood Avenue, Long Eaton NG10 3ND, Monday to Friday between 8am and 4:30pm, once your order is paid in full.

What if something is damaged or missing?

Check your order when it is delivered or collected, and tell us about any damage or missing items the same day.

FAQs

Fitting.

Do you fit kitchens?

No. We are a manufacturer and supply cabinets ready to fit. Your own joiner or builder fits them, or we can put you in touch with joiners who fit our cabinets.

What comes in an order?

Cabinets, doors and drawer fronts, drawers, hinges and shelves, plinths and end panels, plus worktops, handles, lighting and storage if they are on your quote. See what comes in an order.

What do I need to arrange myself?

A fitter, a plumber, an electrician, a Gas Safe engineer for any gas appliance, and any plastering, flooring, tiling and decorating.

FAQs

Guarantee and aftercare.

Are your cabinets guaranteed?

Yes. Every cabinet we make is guaranteed for 5 years against faults in materials and workmanship. See our guarantee.

Who owns the goods before they are paid for?

Goods remain the property of DTJ Interiors Limited until they are paid for in full.

FAQs

Cut and edge.

How accurate is your cut and edge service?

Parts are cut to ±0.5mm. The smallest part we cut is 100 × 100mm and the largest is 2750 × 2020mm. We also make 36mm double-thickness board.

What files can I send?

Use our online cutting list, or upload your own cutting list, drawings and machining details with it.
